Porsche 924 tuning - from custom to Carrera GT |
||||||||
The easyest way to customize your car is simply to facelift it to newer, better model using parts that simply fit. Then you only need to paint it. 924 is the easyest solution, if you want to have "the look" of more expensive, 10 years "yonger" Porsche. You can easily transform your 924 to 944 S2, 968 or even Carrera GT!So there are the possble sollutions: 1. early 944 look. How to? All you need is just the body and phone-dial rims. The interiour stays the same, just replace/add 944 exteriour, biiiig wheelspacers and 4 bolt R15 phonedial rims (because it was a "standart" for 944). Also rear window with bigger rubber spoiler would be nice, to complete the picture. 2. Facelifted 944 look - add newer interiour to your already externally tuned 924. "Cup" style wheels would be nice - for that reason you should find ones from new small Peugeots (4 bolt patter, 4x108 fits OK) or from new Mazda's (just don't forget to remove center caps with logos :) 3.944 S look - to complete this you will have to spend some more money, because you should change all the front of your "lego", and if someone is parting out his 944 S or Sturbo, it's mainly not because of the hit from the back :) Rear bumper lip is obligatory for the "turbo look". 4. Carrera GT look - you can buy complete conversion kit and simply glue it to your original 924. As they did in factory 30 years ago :) 5. GTS / GTR ... honestly I would do this onto my 2 L n/a... 120 horses and 11 inch rear wheels would be terrible to drive. Someone should be pushing you all the time. Also you should get a roll-cage, sport seats etc, and with all this stuff car would not be street-legal in most european countries, at least. 6. Custom mods - various variations with, f.e. rear window with pretty nice spoiler from 968, 944 front, Zender corvette-style rubber spoiler etc. Below you can see "TheBestPorsche's" 924 with corvette-style rear lights, Zender spoiler, Saab door handles and 944 custom white interiour. Now it's on original black R14 (185 front 205 back) but for some time it was put on MAK racing R17 (originally designed for Peugeot 307)
